What are the different Field Types you can use in your Registration Form?

Updated this week

Text Field Types

Text fields allow you to collect free-form input from attendees, such as short answers, long descriptions, or numeric values. These fields are flexible and can be configured to suit different types of responses.

1. Text Field

A single-line input field for alphanumeric responses. Use this when you want attendees to enter extra names, locations, codes, or any open-ended response.

2. Number Field

This is a Text field configured to accept only numeric input. It should be used when the attendee is expected to enter whole numbers.

To enable this, select the “Allow only numbers” toggle when adding or editing a Text field.

Configurable Options

  • Field Name* – The label or question shown to the attendee

  • Mark as Required – Make the field mandatory for submission

  • Character Limits
Enable “Character Limits” in the field settings to define:

    • Minimum characters

    • Maximum characters
Once set, click “Save” to apply the changes

Select Field Types

Select fields allow you to provide attendees with a fixed list of options to choose from. These are ideal when you want to limit input to predefined answers and standardise responses for easier filtering and reporting.

1. Dropdown

Attendees can select only one option from a dropdown list. This helps streamline responses and prevent free-text errors.

2. Multiselect

Attendees can select multiple options from a dropdown. Useful when the question allows more than one answer.

Choice Field Types

Choice fields let you present a set of options for attendees to choose from. They’re perfect when you want to guide responses while offering flexibility in how many options can be selected.

1. Single Choice

Shows all options as radio buttons, where the attendee can select only one response. Once a selection is made, it automatically deselects any other option.

2. Multiple Choice

Displays options as checkboxes, allowing the attendee to select more than one response. All options are visible, and users can tick multiple boxes.

Configurable Options

  • Field Name* – The label or question shown to the attendee

  • This Field is Required – Enable this to make the field required for form submission

  • Visible Conditionally, if – Show this field only when a specific option is selected in a previous field. You can set conditional visibility based on previously created fields of Dropdown or Single Choice type

  • Restrict Availability
You can set a maximum number of times each option can be selected. Once that limit is reached, the option will be disabled for others. Useful when you have limited seats or inventory for specific items like sessions, workshops, or giveaways.

Other Field Types:

In addition to core, text, select, and choice fields, Nunify provides other field types that allow you to collect files, contact details, country information, and more.

1. Date

Adds a date picker to your form. Attendees can select a specific day using a calendar-style input. (Ex: Date of Birth)

2. Time

Adds a time selector to the form. Useful when you need attendees to choose a time for a meeting, slot, or session. (Ex: Arrival time)

3. File

Allows attendees to upload a document, image, or file from their device. Uploaded files are stored securely and are downloadable from the dashboard. (Ex: Upload your ID proof)

  • File size limits may apply depending on your plan.

4. Phone Number

A field to capture valid phone numbers. Can be used as a secondary phone number if the core Phone Number field is already used. (Ex: Collect an alternate or assistant’s contact number.)

5. Email Address

Allows you to collect a second email address beyond the required login email. (Ex: Alternate Email)

6. Countries

Displays a searchable dropdown of all countries. Ideal for collecting country of residence or nationality. (Ex: Select your country)

7. Label

This is a display-only field. It does not collect any data. Use it to add headings, descriptions, or separators within your form. (Ex: Section: Accommodation Details)
